Mamba Max on 3S Lipo? - 11.28.2006, 02:14 AM

Does the MM run ok on 3S Lipo or do I need an external BEC?

Would it be ok if I just threw a fan on there? Thanks for any input guys.

Running all MambaMaxs on 3s except the 7700kv setup, is absolutely fine.
You dont even need a fan nor a BEC for that. However, if you feel that you should throw in a cooling fan for extra protection, then its all up to you.

The 7700 would spin too fast on 3s Lipo. The difference between the motors is kv (RPM/volt).

It would also depend on your gearing. I got my MM to thermal on my T4 using 3S on a 5700. I was getting my high speed thrills using a 20t pinion and stock 87t spur with proline speed hawg tires. I have since backed down to a 19t pinion and have not had any heat issues since.

WHAT?!!

....O..Okay, zeropointbug, when you enter any of the forums in the rc-monster forums main page, you'll notice that the "new thread" button is located above the list of threads in each forum.
Example:
Enter Brushless Forum----look above the list of threads, you'll see a "new thread" button, click it and you are set to make your own thread.

I did, you replied. It was cool man. I like the inside of the motor. I would love to tear down my neu to take a peak, but not comfortable enough to do it! LOL
