My Slipperential's maiden run -
12.27.2006, 08:28 PM
Well, after getting it all together and the body done....I Charged up some the gp3300 NIMH's (7 cell packs) and dropped them into the truck....and decided to head outside and give it a run up and down the street.....Mind you the road was wet from from the snow melting earlier today...so I figured if the road was a little wet I could see how it handled.....WELL, no matter how hard i tried to get it to wheelie....it just plain wouldn't, also the handling improved so much better to, meaning power from front to rear, was improved greatly to, along with it seemed to corner better as well. So I'm very pleased with the slipperential, and it's worth every penny spent on it..... Below is the setup i was running, when I was just testing it out front....
SLIPPERENTIAL:
revo 40t spur
slipper was tightened down, then backed off by 1/4 turn
30k diff fluid
CONTROLLER:
Micro 2095 BK controller
MOTOR:
Feigo 7xl
16t pinion
BATTS:
GP 3300 NIMH matched 7 cell packs
14 cells in series
TIRES/RIMS
23mm STD offset Rims
Proline Bowtie MT's w/ Ofna Orange molded foams inside
Remember this was on gp's......I'm sure it will do alot better ince I go 4s Lipo next month.....
Well that is the results from my first run....hope it helps you guys....
Shayne

Can't wait to hear how it runs when you can "hook the truck up".
Sounds like an impressive first outing though!

Very good news.
With thicker diff oil, I think that you can make the truck do some wheelies.
I'm using 7k diff oil, but I did not get the chance to run my truck, yet.
The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!

If you get rcdriver magazine, in december's issue, there is a article on there that talk about and describes how to set up your diffs, including the center one, and gives the basics of diff fluids and how they effect the center diff....

All rc magazines should make an article of Mike Cronin's V1 SLIPPERENTIAL SYSTEM with a world exclusive review, too. This is how Mike should be thanked for such an intricate and very nice unit of stability.
The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!
