installing 8xl, Warrior 9920 in my e-maxx - 12.30.2006, 02:19 AM

I'm reading the programming instructions. I'm going to use a ubec, but not a receiver pack. I'm reading the instructions, as follows:

"remove the red programming bridge (little red jumper near the battery leads). While you are there, you should also remove the black BEC jumper if you are using a receiver pack or UBEC as recommended. This black tab is near the red jumper, but tucked under the heatshrink. Remove this to disable the BEC and utilize the receiver pack/UBEC."

I just want to confirm, that I need to remove the black tab, and not replace it. As I understand it, I will remove the red and black jumper, and put back the red jumper once programed.

FYI, I'm using this diagram: http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_wiring_bec.html

and have selected these:
External UBEC wiring option 1
Use 2 series-connected battery packs

You are correct remove both and only replace the red one after programming. The wiring diagram looks good as well.
BTW: where is seaside? down around LA?

Removing the black jumper disables the BEC only. The red jumper is for programming. So, yes, remove the black jumper and leave it off.

Most ESCs these days require you to remove the red wire in the throttle cable some way or another, like in the diagram in your link. The BK warriors are one of the few that give you the ability to disable the BEC with a jumper so you don't need to remove the red wire in the throttle cable. It won't hurt anything if you do remove the red wire though.

Now you're just trying to confuse him/her.Where did the red wire come from? He/she is only talking about the jumpers

lol. He referred to the wiring diagram in my BEC wiring webpage. I just wanted to let him know he doesn't have to remove the red wire like the diagram tells...

Sorry for any confusion ncalenda!

This is perfect, I was going to remove the red wire, but now I see, I can simply remove the black jumper instead.

Thanks!!

Thanks! I don't plan on removing it any time soon. As a matter of fact, I just renewed the domain and hosting for another year. Even if I do decide to discontinue the domain at some point, I'd probably give the scripts/pages/pictures to Mike to put on his server if he wanted to...
