has any one converted one of these yet, in rccaraction it had a real good review, and at only 390$ its a pretty good deal, even cheaper when you sell all the nitro parts, and does any one think it would be any easy swap.

i am building this gorrilla maxx for a friend and money is no object, so what would recommend, will send the batteries back no problem, he just wants a serious kick -ss truck thank fo the help on motor, esc & batteries

Steveo, I didn't convert specifically an Inferno ST, but instead a Kyosho MP 7.5-based Inferno. I'm sure it would be a similar conversion. My biggest problem was finding a safe, balanced location for the battery; everything else was pretty straightforward!

i know what your talkin about, its the first thing i was lookin at, i dont know what your runnin for batteries but for now i have 12 cells not much room for that thing even for a 4s lipo pack, what motor esc and batts are you using, oh how about the motor mount

Steveo, the biggest problem with best locating everything is the Kyosho receiver/radio box and the servo tray. With my first build, I kept the radio box and servo tray intact because I used a receiver batter pack, and I used a servo for the disc brakes. That left little room for the 4S Lipoly battery, which I had to angle into the little spot where the fuel tank was, in front of the motor.

Ditch the radio box, let the brushless motor do the braking work, and then there's much more room for the battery!

For my car, I used:

3700maH 4S1P Lipo battery
Feigao XL 5T motor
9920BK esc

and it was an absolute HANDFUL to drive - the tires had no chance of any controllable traction with full throttle - constant drifting, sliding, donuts and looping all over the place - of course, that was great because I built the car for crazy parking lot bashing. It would have been too much for racing; I don't really have enough skill, I guess, to control it that well - yet!

Oops, I forgot; the mounts - I used "can clamp" mounts (2) which came from Fine Design.

thanks for the info sounds fun, my e-maxx needs some repair brushless is tearin it apart, it cost more for it to perform lile a truggy then to buy one. do you think thereis enough room to put two 6 cell packs, for now

Steveo, if you have the side guards still on your truck, you will have plenty of room to mount two 6-cell nimh or nicad packs, one on either side for balance, without modifying or removing the servo tray or radio box.

I would NEVER put Lipo packs along the sides, though, especially on the plastic side guards, because Lipo packs won't put up with much abuse, bumping around or a hard knock in a crash - they simply are not as rugged as typical nimh or nicd cell packs.

i dont have the truck yet just gettin info, in the pictures i see it does not show side guards does it come with the truck, or can i get some.
