ok, well a 8s wouldnt be enough torque so an l or xl would be up your ally i think (not sure what a twin detonator is, but if its got twin motor i would asume its a monster truck, lol) if you run twin brushless you would have to get two 9918s a.k.a. 9920 since nobody makes one for twin engines (suck i know). also, a 3s is only 11.1 volts so thats not really enough...mabye a 2s and a 3s (18.5 volts) or just 2 2s' would due, but this is just from what you have told us. more info could help us help you more.
