I would take a dremel and solve the problem of the MIP shaft rubbing against the GPM knuckle.

Are your pillowball retainers too tight by any change?

maybe, but if i loosen them up the wheel becomes very loose and sloppy

oh and i thought about taking the dremel to it, but i wanted some more opinions

Screwing those pivot ball in all the way is what screwed up your alignment.

I would file or grind some material from the knukles around the drive shaft.
