muggy build-up from scratch?

I just used a 6-32 tie rod with rod ends and balls to make a new link. There's almost no play in the steering now. As for the chassis, I used a couple of pieces of 1/8 aluminum to make rock guards and used the existing holes to mount them. It's very rigid now. Almost no flex at all.
