4S or 5S? - 03.28.2007, 01:01 AM

Alright guys. A bunch of you guys have probably noticed I'm getting real excited about my 1950/6 Hi-Amp :005:

Anyways, I'm trying to get my second set of MaxAmps 8K's sold, and after they are sold, I will buy new packs.

I'm already set upon getting the FlightPower 4900 packs (not Trackpower). However, I am still deciding whether to get 4S or 5S.

What do you guys think? This is going into my G2R, which is my race truck. Do you guys think 5S is going to be a little extreme? I'm pretty good at handling extreme power.

Current plan is to run 4S on the MM and then upgrade to 5S when the MMM comes out (basically buy a pair of 2S packs and run those, then when the MMM comes out get two 3S packs and then create two 5S sets).

I'm just wondering if I should even consider 5S or am I just out of my mind?

if you are making it race ready, 4S is enough.

4S it is then. That will make it easy to choose the ESC (hello MM!)

GD: Yea really...I only mention it every other post... ;)

I have the same motor, altough 5S is do-able, I would not advise it. Especially if you want to have long runs. Take 4S for the /6, and the /8 when you want 5S. I'd use the /6 on 5S for speed runs only.

And if you go 4S anyway, I'd take the Trakpowers.

BTW, selling used Lipos ??... nice if you can find someone who buys them. I would not bother. But if you can find a buyer, cool.

Cheers
