Emaxx center CVD help - 04.04.2007, 03:14 PM

Hello peeps

Is there a difference in center CVDs for a 1.5 Emaxx and a 2.5 Emaxx? I got some Dynomite center CVDs and they want fit. I know I should have bought some MIPs but at the time I really didn't need CVDs. Now I'm about to install a Novak BL and need CVDs. I would order some MIPs but I'm not sure which ones will fit? Any help would be greatly appericated.

Thanks
Ray

There is no difference for the center CVD's in the E-Maxx regardless of version. However, there is a difference between the T-Maxx and E-Maxx CVD's. Are they too long/short?

+1

No difference in the 1.5 & 2.5 T-Maxx center shafts, input, or output shaft dimensions. Fitment should not be an issue. E-maxx dimensions have not changed either.

However you can not use T-Maxx shafts on an E-Maxx. The T-maxx has a 5mm trans output shaft and the E-Maxx has a 6mm, output shaft.

Yes sir, too short and too long...the package said both trucks lol Also, the couplers would not fit either the gear box or diff. I machined them out to fit but later found out the whole short/long deal. Do either of you know a part number on some Emaxx center CVDs?

edited: will these fit?

Yes, They fit.

The other option would be to use Unlimited Engineering Center Drives available in Ti and Steel (www.unlimitedengineering.com)

But for the price, the MIP's will do a good job.

lol I was just checking out Unlimited's site...need some idlers gears also.

Anyhow, I think I'm going to run with the MIPs. They're better than what I got and I'm only running an HV Novak ( the Emaxx replacement). I think I'm going to buy my son a new emaxx...this one is going to be tons of fun :)

Thanks

Wait a few days (or whenever my order gets here) and I'll have some directions for you. :) From what I know, you just install the mount where the stock Nitro mount goes. When you adjust the mesh, you also have to adjust the rear support so the motor sits on it perfectly.
