Your only options are:

A. Mechanical brakes, front, rear, or front/rear
B. Run a one-way in the front so only the rear have brakes
C. Don't believe him

I wouldn't think it to be a big deal. 90% of conversions use the motor brakes and I have yet to here somebody say something to that effect. Infact, I have a LSP that uses motor brakes and it doesn't...It stops on a dime however...
