I could be wrong but silicone fluid is silicone fluid...the stuff I used was 9000cst viscosity not 90wt. Its pretty darn thick and seems to work fine in some of my other trucks.

I bought a lot of the parts over a long period of time when they were on sale or when I had some good coupon codes...but as an estimation:
$329 DM-1 Spec
$50 RC Monster motor mount
$75 RC Product Designs battery tray and diff top plate
$125 three Ofna Spider Diffs
$270 MMM and Neu Castle 2200kv combo
$100 JR Servo
$285 Flightpower 5S 5000mah battery
$85 Spektrum transceiver
$95 HPI D-Box gyro (not pictured)
YIKES it adds up quick.

I will definitely get a vid for you all...eventually.
As for a body...I am planning to contact Team3six to see what he can do for me. Any cool ideas on themes? I was thinking something associated with Tesla or maybe nuclear energy.

dude,
i love Tesla!! my wife and i actually had one of their songs played at our wedding. 5 man acoustical jam is a great album. i just love the acoustic stuff. hmm, how could you incorporate a Tesla theme? "Signs, signs, everywhere signs. blocking the scenery, breakin' my mind. do this, dont do that, cant you read the signs?"
i know they didnt originally write that one but sure made it sound good.

lol, when I saw "Tesla", I immediately thought of a Tesla coil, not the band (especially with the reference to nuclear energy). But the band was good too.

1.5mm Lexan is about 0.060" - the same stuff Proline uses for their bodies.
SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

Yeah I like that stuff...its practically indestructable. The body that came with the DM-1 Spec is sort of flimsy (probably 1mm thick lexan)...especially given the body's large dimensions L23.5 X W12.5 X H6.5. I guess I can see where each thickness of lexan has their distinct advantages and application...but I like the 1.5mm lexan.
Anybody know where I can find a mfg that makes bodies for the DM-1 Spec (with affordable shipping to USA )?

All I know is the Kyosho Inferno GT (not GT2) bodies will fit. I am not sure if any others than the Ferrari F430 GT, Aston Martin and Subaru Impreza is produced. About $70 on eBay.

Cheap and in the USA. Pretty nice body. A freind of mine has one on his GTP.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
