And I won't mention any names, but a member of the forum here had a pretty big part in that design. It's not me, but someone fairly close. Don't know how much I should say but if he comes online here, he can add the details...

$45 a gallon is what premium unleaded costs in chicago. Ill just run my 1/1 on nitro. j/k

thank you for small favors. Less nerve racking eye burning nitro noise at the tracks and bashing grounds! probably mean lipos go up and motors too until the supply levels with new demand, then big sale pricing.. then again im just a negative person who recieved 2 30c lipos in the mail today. LOL@ nitro guys

Traxxas really should have made that erevo brushless out of the box. Would have been perfect timing. :: watches ship sail past ::

I'm sure there is more than one manufacturer working on a factory electric 1/8. Its just a matter of time now. The writing is on the wall and it will be the next boom like the truggy was a couple years ago.

On the flip side... if nitro does get that expensive and become that hard to get it will sure thin out the crowd at the track. Who will I race against untill they revolution happpens. I dont see this hobby getting maore expensive as a good thing no matter how you look at it. Its already expensive enough. It will just become that much more prohibitive for the masses and I hate to say it but the hobby has been struggling to grow for some time now. Anything that make growth harder in any area of the hobby is a bad thing IMO.

I hope this is just a nasty rumor.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

O no i use nitro but wish i could run BL but i can afford the batteries and a battery wont last an 30 minute main. but if everyone ran bl at my track then i would not mind running a 15 minute main.

Good gives me a reason to convert my 808 before I stink it all up with nitro. Think I'll finish off my bottle of nitro with my Hyper 8 and sell what nitro stuff I can.

This has been an extremely interesting thread to read, this issue of lack of Nitro fuel has its positives and it negatives.

The biggest positives being:
• Less Nitro vehicles at the track, which helps keep down the crowds, noise and exhaust fumes.

The biggest negatives being:
• Hurting our hobby in a way that would now exclude the mass population and driving up further demand on items that are already highly sought after. Manufactures will be required to pour tons of money into keeping up with the (E) generation, thus passing the cost for the new R&D back to the consumer which then increases the overall initial investment by what?? Hundreds of dollars?.

This is going to hurt us too gentlemen.. This is not a good thing if it last!, If it going to be temporary for say the next 6-8 months?? Well than SUCK IT UP NITRO!.. Haaaa!..

Personal opinion

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..

It's amazing to me what this thread has become. Yet another "end to nitro" type deal. This is just a phenomenon related to plants closing, not the end of all things to be. I highly doubt in the grand scheme of things it will change much as a way of hobby life. Nitro will still be around and electric will keep growing. What I don't understand is the attitude by some that this is somehow great and ha ha on the nitro guys. I respect their choice of nitro for their reasons although I don't like nitro and prefer electric. The more people in the hobby the better no matter if the gravitate toward nitro or electric.

People let this pass and stop the doom and gloom predictions.

Fuel is not the only thing...I have heard through the grapevine @ work that some of our vendors have warned us already. From what I have heard the area surronding where the Olympics are being played have manufacturing plants that cause a lot of pollution and everything will be shut down.

well RB fuel I use in my racing Mugen costs $70 without VAT here

BL racing will have hard time getting even with nitro, especially in europe. The best thing about nitros are long mains and pit stops.

Weekend race i went to yesterday had an OPEN - totally open to get as many people as possible (1:10, 1:8 electric monster/stadium whatever truck) - class. Only 3 people registered and two showed up - one of them being myself with my maxx finally looking on testing it agains my friends LSP (me being better driver agains him with obviously better truck). it seems like people with electric trucks are afraid of racing. anyway i at least won the IC truggy class :)

When i bought my MBX5-T a month and half ago i got Mike's motor mount for it, but next day i got it my friend told me " whats the point getting another 1/8 BL truck when noone will want to race with you ", so i just threw RB in it and love it (my first nitro as I always prefered electric and BL thanks to this forum). I race almost every weekend, race at nationals and love it
