I run the 60mm 1600kv v2 motor in my hyper8 on 6s lipo. Plenty of power, and it runs cool too. The 2200 should work fine for you.

My two cents. -

Don’t you really want to know what total height you have to work with first and then start to subtract from there to know what your starting point is. ??
Example:
my height is 50mm from the bottom of the chassis to the top of the lid.
my battery tray is 5mm
my battery strap is 6.2 mm
my battery wires under the strap is 4mm
I'm now left with a total free height of approx 44mm that I can allocate towards battery / lipo height. What is your total free height? and how tall are the 123 cells stacked up on each other?. I've found that on average a 5000mAH lipo works without shimming the lid. as for a 3s, 4s, 5s, etc, what can your ESC handle?.
Either way it's more money you'll be spending..
Nice build by the way..

well... i figured, im NOT getting lipo, unless its hardcased... which no 4s exist. dont bother trying to convince me to go with lipos as i just dont want to!!! :)
so, a123 was the next best option. then i needed a 2p setup... and i could have gone with 5s2p, which was my original plan....glad i didnt!!!
i got a great deal ($140 posted) on 2 4600 packs from a123racing... so that was 1/2 the price usually so i jumped on them. imo to go with a 2p setup for a buggy there are a few options. i dont really want to cut them apart and rearange them, and i want to use them in my TC3... which they fit in (well enough anyway!!). so that limits me to keeping the 2 seperate packs.
then another 2 options. one each side (great if i can figure out HOW!!) or 2 on one side, and esc, reciever, moto, bec and servo on the other.
then another 2 options!! either stack them in a brick, or offset them. as i could see no advantage for spreading them out (weight is still the same) and there is no room for putting them end to end...unfortunately.
so the only way (assuming i cannot get the batteries on seperate sides, (if i did, they would be hanging solely off the plastic guards, not sure how long they would survive. to counter this, i thought i could add an alloy (or steel) thin bar/s across the width, supporting the 2 guards... this has not been done before, and the leading edge would have to be bevelled obviously...
any more ideas guys? i will space the body off for sure... but we will see how i actually do this later... at the moment, it can work without a body for testing :P

interesting.... i hadnt thought of that!! anged alloy with padding... with straps ive already got... and make a lip and replace the plastic skirts... im thinking of getting a mount done (want a NEW hyper mount?) exactly the same as brianG... which will allow EASY peasy battery placement!!! the esc could be placed somewhere, i dont worry about that

a123 will last longer (cycle wise) and wont bend and kill themselves if they fall out while showing off your back flipping skillz on the tripple :P

well im very fickle on choosing the right battery rite now, it's either lipo or a123.
first lipo has its advantages by being light and i only need one and for a123s they charge faster, and have longer cycle life. the disadvantages are that lipo can burst and needs more care than a123s, and the disadvantages of a123s is the weight and size.

damn, is your dad paying for this! my parents have not put one cent into my hobby.... and if i want to go to the track (20 minute drive) i have to help around the house for ages... o well. wonder what they will say when they get my report card in a few weeks...
also, u can charge 2p a123's up to 30A safely, some even up to 50A... u just need an awesome cc/cv capable power supply, and then there is no need for more than one pack, as well as the fact they have awesome resell value... around $400-600 for most though :(

no he's not, he won't even let me buy stuff with my own money! and the only thing i need is batteries, but i have tons of ep's so he's making me use those but the're freakin heavy. he doesn't really get rc, and he's hard to convince, i had to let a guy at the track to talk to him into letting me get a mamba max, but i don't go to the track anymore. he bought me the car, servo, and radio system and everything else to get me into the hobby, but now i have so many things to sell and so much money to spend on the conversion, the money is just sitting in the bank waiting to be spent
