My secrete is not out and I'm very disappointed in what I received today. It did not come with the 5MM shaft. It came with 1/8 shaft. I'm pissed. I even paid $18 on EMS shipping and it took almost 20 days to get here and now this POS will definitely not handle what I was planning for it.

I actually know who makes them, but I couldn't place an order for 100 motors before I had a couple on my hand. Let me know if yours comes with the 5mm shaft.

Do you think this was a mix up or faulty information on their site? I agree that it's pretty disappointing, but aren't they still useful with a 1/8" shaft? Just use different pinions...

Well, I just received an email from them saying it will be shipped in 2 days then about 2weeks to reach Asia....I just replied to that email saying that I need a 5MM shaft not a 1/8.....

Hopefully he'll give me a correct 1. I'll keep you guys posted

I have 2 C50-Maxx which are like a L size motor that now have broken their 1/8 shaft. The information on the site states a 5mm shaft as per the drawing. In my opinion, any XL size motor should come with 5mm shafts and make the 1/8" an option. The other thing you will see, is that the front end comes unscrewed without a hassle. So make sure you add some Loctite to keep it from causing any damages.

You could use one of Mike's bore reducers for the test motor. That's what I'm using on my C50-Maxx.

If I had a truck with a transmission I could use it or just buy some MOD1 1/8 pinions, but my vehicles are all direct drive to the spur and the 1/8" shaft even with the adapter will eventually break. They tend to break right where the shaft thickens close to the bearing.

Thanks for the updates, lutach. I'm new to the larger BL motors so it's good to know that 5mm is a good size for the shaft for durability reasons. Have you contacted the vendor to see what their explanation is for the 1/8" shaft?

I sent him an e-mail yesterday and he replied saying that e was a bit confused about my question (It wasn't a question). He did say in the e-mail that he'll be resending 2 5mm motors. So now I just have to wait and see if they do come. One other thing I forgot to mention is to examine the magnet as I found scraps of broken magnet in one motor. The other motor might have some balancing issue as the plate that goes between the magnet and spacer seems bent. I'll try to get some pictures later, I've been busy test some stuff.

Damn, that sounds rather poor, I was rather hopefull these would turn out to be cheap & cheerful, like my hobbycity 9XL (seems I got a fairly good one compared to beatle's spinning toaster of doom).

Anyhow, are there any updates about this motor?
I just noticed that there's been added an option to select the shaft diameter, they sure care about their customers :D

I'll buy one with 13 winds for my 6S lipo setup as soon as I sold some RC stuff!

Looks nice!
How come it's black anodized? Are the endbells pressed or are they held by screws?

How much play does the shaft have? The ones I have here with the 1/8" shaft have a lot of play and that's not good. I guess the place you bought it from knows what they're doing and sent you the correct motor. The factory just started out bad in my case . I'm waiting for the correct 5mm shafted motors to come in and I'll definitely pair the controller with them. The black motor looks nice, I'll ask the factory if they can make them blue for me .
