Recently, I only run my E-Maxx in one gear so It might be a good idea doing the conversion to lighten it, due to the fact that Hardly use the 2nd.

i dont think so. remember, gorillamaxx isnt that big of a company and those sing speed cases take a while to machine. i dont think they would discontinue such a popular product.
