well, i was a little concerned when i heard you say it was geared for ~60mph. now, i'm a little concerned it's gonna be undergeared. i'm kinda curious to see how bad those tires will balloon.


They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

I just hope the diffs hold up long enough for the tires to even have a chance to balloon.. I have a whole bunch of gears that came with it as well... I think the differential is 3:1, the Center Diff is 3:1.. Pinion is 25, Spur is 36.. and transfer from 24T to 25T on the center diff... I'm not sure how to figure that out.. I'm guessing my FDR is around 12.44... Some one please correct me, or help me figure out the FDR.. I'm going to try BrianGs Speedy thing...

Awesome project!!! Your motor mount is nice and beefy, just like the motor. Can't wait to see videos of this thing...!!!

looks like around 13.5 to me...
i would drop to a minimum fdr of 18:1, and also lower the motor voltage to limit rpms...

60mph for a truck this large will only create broken parts imo...

How are you connecting the cut off clutchbell stem to the motor shaft.

I haven't worked on mine for a while either...been working a lot of OT lately...always nice to get a pay check that is $600 bigger than normal.

Excellent work congratulations, I wanted to know how you felt about
protect the engine from dust, it has a
fan that sucks in air.
I have the same problem on my baja with a NEU 2215 and
I do not know how to fix it.

Check the space between the center ring and pinion. I had to shim mine.

Yeah, you are not going to have many battery mounting options that way.

As you can see in the rear of the motor can is the intake. I will put a piece of foam or some kind of filter around that whole area. I'm actually leaning towards covering the whole motor(mount and all) in some kind of filter cloth/material. but for sure the rear will have a filter and the front sides of the motor will be shielded as well...

Hey, thanks.. I will shim it for sure.. I'll have to figure something out for the battery mounting... Right now, I I'm thinking of mounting the battery on an angle in the rear. But I'll have to play with it, because I want it as balanced as possible for the jumps.

Thanks man.. after spending so much money on Batteries, Motor and ESC.. Something had to be done that could save me some money... I tried to keep it stock as possible...

Had some time today to work on a new steering servo mount, the one that was on there couldn't fit my Hitec 805BB... not that the 805BB is the greatest servo.. I just happen to have 2 of them laying around..



And here's a short video of the truck with motor set to 356KV and 100A ESC.., I still have battery trays to rig up..
