Yep. I was surprised as well.

My latest re-powering was a Little Tykes train. It came with like 40ft of track and a Engine and a caboose. It was powered by a single 550 motor on a 6v battery with a simple mechanical speed control, on/off throttle. I just soldered in a new motor and cleaned the tabs on the MSC and she ran great again. Cost me a whole $0 since I have a bunch of 550's laying around. I decided to try a 3s lipo as well. It start spinning wheels on the tracks with my nephew on it.

awesome vids, man. i love it! i really wish we could go bash these together if we were a bit closer. i am gonna try to find some local 1/5ers and put together a golf-course-thrash-and-dash afternoon this fall. that would be fun.
The 2230 would've been awesome, my next Rampage MT will be equipped with the 2230 on 12S, maybe around 400KV. Because those 4 Pole motors have much more power than the 2 poles on lower RPMs.
Pushing your daughter with a skateboard... LOL it shouldn't be hard to do..
As for how many Ponies, I'm not sure... But I know I'm not pulling more than 100A even with the girl on top, I could've went "Much" faster, but didn't want her to get hurt. Let's say, when at a stand still. Using my AC Clamp, I don't pull more than 80A.. That's when the truck is on cement and tied to a pole or stationary object. With the bigger motors, it's actually easier on the ESC because you get power instantly. You now, Truck is geared for about 50MPH and no cogging on a two pole motor with the kind of load on it. :)

That's too bad you guys are far away, we have a pretty good number of 5th scale bashers here.. No one wants to record a video, everyone is too busy running their rigs...

I'm about to re-power my old Bigfoot power wheels for my nephew. A couple of Titan 550's will be my replacement motors.
You're absolutely correct, I'll be working on a power wheel escalade for my neice.. Powered with 2 of the cheap KD36 1100, 2 cheap HXT 120A ESCs, and 24V deep cycle batteries and Hitec FlashX 5 Air Radio(no need for PiStix).

I added a resistor to the brake, so the wheels didn't lock up and saves the tranny.
Hhahaha.. I haven't opened the power wheel yet, are the gears metal or plastic?...

That's awesome dude.. I did something similar with my Fastland/ACNCM Maxx and GST.. Pulled over 100Lbs on Grass using one of those bike carrier things with 2 big wheels and 1 swivel wheel in front.. Tied with a rope...

thats crazy those little jeeps only run motors that big. i thought they ran motors more like the size of a blender motor and just geared very low. obviously they are geared as you said but a couple of titans? thats nuts. i could serioulsy build my kids a truck. if you were motivated enough you could slap a wood box and a powerful driveline and have some great fun! think of using a couple of those lehners and sending your kids down the street in a wood box at 50mph. hahaha. the image is too funny. screaming and crying, arms waving, hair flying. whoa, i am not really a kid tormenter. just seemed funny for a sec.
My buddy is working on an RC Pocket Quad ATV (Gasoline), I'll be working on the same project but using my HXT 180KV outrunner on 12S..

Aqwut (and Ryu) you guys should consider some onboard video. You both have big enough rigs you could run just about any decent sized cams, or even multiple cams. Trust me it's quite addictive... and I am a sucker for the moving-parts-in-frame shots. Just a mild hint.....

I was thinking of this, but I have other things to buy before the onboard cam... I might just buy a cheap $30 camera from Walmart and just velcro it on...

Need suggestions lemme know, the Creative Vado is my #1 choice under $100, your truck could probably roll over on it, and it would survive, About the best picture you will get from a non-HD.

i have thought of doing this also. i love it when the cam has view of the shocks in it so you can see the suspension movement while running. i really want to do that with this truck cuz i have the baja 5b shocks on here and they are so plush. it would be cool to see them in action up close and in slo-mo.
