New 9920/10xl steering sluggish

Guys, i got it up and runnin last night...at first, it was FAST! But my steering is real non responsive, sluggish like. I haven't had it on a very good run yet, but from what i can tell, it steers slowly?
Also, reverse was faster than forward, which i think i cured by removing the jumper and putting it back in, but had to do it again as things were backwards after that. Make sense?
