Its not 100% fixed, i still have testing to do, but so far it looks to be functioning pretty well! But hey, i shouldnt be complaining, you went through a couple of escs/motors, by the way, did you just junk all that stuff or what?
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

9920 should be on its way to Germany. 8xl was replaced by Mike. 12020 was replaced by Mike. I still haven't heard why one leg of a cap would consistently burn off. I made 2 seven cell packs with the trinity/sanyo batts and they suck. IB 4200 are shot. Too many of them where actually leaking stuff. I might have a couple of good cells, but for now they are just sitting in my parts box.
Good luck with yours. It sounds like you are well on your way.

sylvester that is the same radio I have for my truck I am a bit worried now, I really dont want a run away 2240, should I find a different radio?
coolhand, I hope mine does not want to do full throttle reverse on startup if it does I guess I could power up the recever, then switch on my MGM.

Dont worry, it should serve you well, i think something in the receiver was wrong, but when i first got it, the antenna wire inside was very loose, its somthing you should check.

Yeah, I also have that controller and am a tad worried too...
When you are binding the receiver, are you setting the throttle/steering at the positions you want for failsafe? I have mine set for neutral and full left steering. I figure if the throttle still goes forward or backwards at WOT, at least it will go in circles and not a mile down the road. :) Every once in a while, I test the failsafe by putting the truck on a stand and shutting off the transmitter to see if everything goes to the failsafe positions I set.

That fault was inside the transmitter,if it's the 'shut down' fault they show on their site. It's the way the antenna is routed inside the transmitter,if it's routed over the board it's too short and needs to be relaced,it should go under the board, anyone with a DX3 needs to open the transmitter to check.
Edit:er,it doesn't apply to the DX3(i think),that fault is definately within the transmitter module but it's just for people using modules. http://www.spektrumrc.com/Articles/HobbyWire.aspx

The way I understand it gustav it is in the receiver not the trans mitter. it is no wire to run in a modul.
If you power up the rx first and then the esc you will have no problem. I thought I set mine to fail safe in neutrel. I have to check this out.
Peace!

I had a similar issue with the BK and the Spektrum, it would want to take off when it was connected, The fix was to install a switch and turn the RX on (via UBEC) after the main batteries were connected.
although it doesn't do it with the Shultze.........:002:

Leroy, re-bind your receiver, than try again. Isnt the transmitter called a "tx" ? And the receiver "rx"? Kinda confused...
Anyway i did some testing today, i took off the pinion and sat the truck on my backyard porch, turned on the tx and than the esc. Everything was fine, no sudden reverse (like you have, right leroy?) and i started to walk further away from the truck, everything was fine, i hear the motor responding to me as i moved my finger on the accelerator (throttle). Also tried the steering, works fine as well.
Do you think this is a ok way to test it, i am still a little scared to put the pinion back on, but ill have to sooner or later.
Also, i have found out that if i put the UBEC into the "AUX" slot in the receiver, it works, same if i put it in the "BATT" slot. Does it really matter?
Cabking, just read your post, i got a switch with my spektrum, did you use that one? Ill try it out if i have to! Thanks!

yup I used that one, to use the rear switch mount on the g2r takes a bit of work with the dremmel though, its a tad big.
edit, remember to fit it with the 'on' towards the front, that way it wont turn its self off after that heavy front end landing :032:

So you say to put a switch on the ubec and plug up the batts then turn the switch on and it works great. I will have to try that.
I did notice it don't do it with the schulze. I did have to adjust the center of the throttle to reverse a smidge. It wouldn't beep if not.
Peace!
