I've been able to get most replacement parts for the T2 from Tower, and the others thru Associated. So far no problems, but handlingwise I'm sure the newer designs are better.

Please tell me that's not smoke I see!

IMO, it was a good deal. Back three or four years ago I got my Rustler with ESC (XL-1) and a cheap charger and battery for about $150 on Ebay. What you got is more than that.

i noticed that it says RRP hardened gears in gearbox for the rustler i went to there site and they dont list them so they must be discontinued. what gears is he talking about? spyder gears (sun gears in rc talk) maby or what?

They're the planetary (sun) gears inside the differential. RRP stopped making those probably about 2 or 3 years ago.

Anything would be an improvement over stock. From my experience with my stampede a couple years ago, the stock were complete garbage.

there is one thing that annoys me about the T4. the transmission is bulletproof (touch wood) and has not given me any trouble in all the time ive owned it, no matter what i did to it. at one point it got a bit creaky after a hard knock, but i tore it down, and that solved that. now the chassis seems to be alot weaker. i did a small jump, it flipped and snapped the rear shock tower and broke one of the rear body mounts.

Strongest new one is probably a Rustler..or if you don't mind a bit of work, a converted RC10GT. I've done two conversions, and its my fav vehicle because its so durable but still handles pretty well.

But by far the strongest car I've ever owned is an RC10T2. With a few key upgrades (that are easy to get thanks to RC10GT compatibility) its never really likely to break. Infact in several months of running all I've done is loose a couple of rear body posts, snap a screw in an arm mount (it drilled out fine) and trash two bodyshells.

Traxxas says to use a plastic top gear when using an alum idlear but that dosent really make sense to replace one weak point with another.
