Yeah, it is rated for 18. but 24 is doable for insane speedruns..

Brian; i've seen pictures of another bigmaxximum (black anodized) which had a way bigger fan. Twice or three times as deep with much larger fins.

i know that the BK's don't react well with 4 pole motors, so a quark 125b is probably your best bet..............

One of our friends ran 6 lipo cells with his 12.97 and 9 lipo cells with the 18.97and they did not blow up. I think you can easily use 24 cells with your controller and motor.

Captain, that isn't wise at ALL...I woul say put the Mamba on the buggy with 4S and the Maxximum and get a Big Maxximum for the 18.97 if you really want a BIg Maxx...

I wouldn't do that either. For one thing, the caps on there are only rated 25v. Manufacturers tend to spec in a safety zone, but at 24 cells (~29v), that is really pushing it! At the very least, its life will be shortened.

I know the MM is relatively inexpensive and it's tempting to use it where otherwise you'd have to use a costly ESC, but there are limits.

No, I meant that for the Schulze controllers.
And besides, we're bashers- I'm the soft type- where I dont push my escs and motors so hard.

I actually said what I said for our friend to use his 18.97 with the BigMaxx and feed it with the 28.8 volts he's planning to use.

I do have plans to run 8s through my 18.149 controller and see if it can survive the extra voltage.

Mike did told me once that he had overcelled some of his Schulze controllers without any declining or blowing up.

I would think so... with good batteries and proper gearing. I would run a ubec just to be safe with a big motor setup.
