@ all: yeah i totally agree Mike's truck is a real piece of art, nice work.

I think it would be a great conversion with the 2280 no doubts.



My chassis is already "history", it acerlate good, but not good enough the truck was simply too heavy. But a new truck is already on shipping to me:010:

A SuperGorillaMaxx with RacerX, setback arms, Slipperential, VBS, ceramic bearings, MTR Crime fighter tires and Lehner/ Neu motors with a good esc would do for me.

BTW, Mike, how much would you take for the modified FLM chassis and the center diff/ motor mount?

it's all about taste, which is not arguable.

a racerx is nice, but not the best option for everyone.

or value for the money.

and i don't see a hardcore basher using the racer-x, because it would be a waste anyway.

Right, but I consider myself a soft basher and a hardcore car modeller.
My problem is that I always want everything to be as perfect as possible.
In terms of look and quality, the RacerX is absolutely irresistable.

Well, I've been thinking if the slipperential is any better than the center diff made for that FLM chassis?

I mean what's the plus in having a slipper system with a center diff? there are some extra gears that would make the motor work harder.

The center diff in the pictures seems to deliver the juice just right.

Wrong. There are extra gears, true, but one things about it is that the slipper takes strain off of the motor and off of the drivetrain, so easier on the motor, not harder...

Yes, indeed. I know what you mean though, more resistance.

But it's easier to get a brushless motor in it's ideal range. and a good quality slipper, like the revo-slipper, can't hurt for racing!

because you have got a taller gearing ratio.

my experience is that rather direct-drive setups get relative hot, because the motor needs to be pulling very hard to get the ship going.. Especially with 43/13 diffs and large MT wheels. with 43/10 diffs its a whole different bag.. (taller gearing ratio)

Forgive me for being dense, but I don't get the "slipper" part of slipperential. I see the diff but no slipper. Is it so compact that it is hard to see or something?
