CRT.5 B/L Parts list.................. - 06.19.2007, 01:22 PM

I am currently converting my CRT.5 to B/L as some know.

Parts I have now or on order:
Mamba Max esc and 5700kv motor
Hitech digital servo 5242-MG
RC-Monster CRT.5 B/L Mount
RC-Monster 16t hardened pinion 5mm mod1
RC-Monster Bore reducer 5mm to 1/8"

Parts I need to order:
Max Amps 5ah 3s lipo

Parts I might need not sure:
BEC

Ok there is my list, I am still unclear if I need a bec or not. I ave read and read but seems to me that I can not pull the info out of what I am reading to decide weather I need one or not.

Also tires tires tires.......I like to have some tire options. I am looking into these tires here for racing on hard clay/packed dirt:

I plan to use the stock pro lines Boe Ties that came with the kit on loose or bashing on grass or dirt surfaces.

I am after a set for high speed runs. I seen the foams IBJAMMIN ran, I like them, him burning up a servo has led away from them. I did wonder about cutting these foams down. here is the link to the foams:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCME3&P=ML

the tire ovarall is 86mm tall. The rim says 2.2" which is 56mm tall. That leaves 15 mm of foam on the outside. I wonder if I trued these down to 5 mm of foam, leaving me a 66mm oval tall tire. Then take the outer edges and round them up. Do any of you feel this would take some strain off the servo? Is it to short at 66mm, the stock tires are around 81mm.

Lastly I seen these tires and wonder if anyone has experience with them or word on them.

These appear to some good bashing on road and off road tires.

Thanks for looking and your opinions are wanted, so please do not hold back let it all out. ;)

later,
