If they get hot enough and they're clamped too hard, they will squish. I've had a few go out of alignment on me because I took too long to solder them and they overheated which allowed the contacts to drift. Happens much more readily with 12 AWG wire and up. They say not to solder them plugged in but it helps a lot.

For that, it helps to attach another deans "pigtail" into the plug to help leech the heat away.

another trick to holding the deans plugs - try a rubber band on the handle of a needlenose - that works well as well....
