Looking for a speed controler for Neu 1515/1D motor

the 16018 MGM is the same price as Quark, $275. The MGM can be the better deal in most applications.

Do you have a fan on Your MM controller. The controller you have should be good with a UBEC. Is cogging a problem or just heat.

A neu 1512 or 1509 would probably be quicker, the smaller roter would spool up faster.

From what eveyone is saying the MGMm are the way to go.
I had a look for the 16018 MGM but was unable to find it listed.

To my knowledge, there will be an alignment of our solar system in the center of the Milkyway Galaxy in 2012. Although, I don't know what affect that will have on anything.
Also, the Inca calander comes to an end in the year 2012. Noone knows exactly why this caladar ends in 2012 (There aren't any Inca's around to ask) but many believe time as we know it will end. A couple guys mentioned running the MM with a UBEC to cool things down. I would suggest using a UBEC or CCBEC AND adding an additional cell to run 4S. Of coarse you'll need to gear down accordingly and disable the MM's onboard BEC. The extra voltage should reduce the current enough for you to notice a difference in temps. If not, you can easily add a 5v fan to shave off the remaining excess heat.

There are several guys here that run the MM with NEU motors on 4S & UBEC and have not reported heat issues. I think just changing the ESC is going to be an expensive solution if you plan on continuing to run 3S. I would invest in an extra cell before dropping $300 on a new ESC.

+1. That's my take too. If you plan to put your 1515 in something big eventually, getting an MGM might not be a bad idea. For this situation, the MM can be set up to work great. I use an MM/1515 1.5d/f in my MBX5T and it runs cool. Shouldn't be a problem at all in a Jato.

Just wanted to speak up for the quark, I'm running mine on a 13lb. savage with 5s apogee li-mn 5800mAh packs and even when I'm going balls to the walls full throttle it barely even gets warm, though it may be because of the integrated heatsink on my rx/esc tray that mike did for me. It's smooth as silk and stays cool as a cucumber if I'm easy on it.

P.S. Forgot to mention I'm running a 1515/2.5D

Ok, thans agiain for this info. I am starting to learn a bit more about all of this now.
I guess the question is now, what is a UBEC or CCBEC for the MM ?

I haven't heard of these before, only what peole are telling me.
If this could help me cool things down it would be worth looking into.

Doese anyone have any links to what they are and where to get them form?
I am pretty interesetd to find out more about these.

A UBEC is a Ultimate Battery Eliminating Circuit (i think). A CCBEC is a Castle Creations version? I think that is right.
