+1.... I just took my RC8Te, with ProLine Trenchers, out for a run in the snow myself... much fun. PITA getting the snow out, but hair drier helps!

I'm surprised he allows dirt to get on his Flux.

As you can see in the video I knock a lot of the snow off just by dropping it and shaking it. Other than that I just throw it in the tub to drip off for a bit and put it next to the heater. I've done it just like that for years now with my E-Revo and E-Maxxs.

I like doing it right inside my door, saves me from having to use a humidifier, I've been waking up with the driest mouth ever. Also I did that just before I went to my part time job and just a few hours later when I got home it was bone dry. When I have a wife, or girlfriend living with me it'll be somewhere that I have a basement to do that kind of stuff in

Just got my first set of Turnigy batteries today. Tried getting some Neu's but 10 days after I ordered them they refunded me my money. It sucked playing the waiting game, waiting for lipos to come only to find out they weren't coming. I ordered these Turnigy 5800mah 2s packs on Monday and they where here Friday when I got home. I immedietly checked the voltage as I had heard so much about dead cells upon arrival but both packs where identical and at 3.8V/cell. Just got done soldering some deans on and they are charging, I have to say that I'm not a fan of the wire! The 8 gauge wire seems to be over kill and is a PITA to solder.

ya the wire is way too big, i usually cut some of the strands off to make it a little easier to solder. You will also hate how easy the wire insulation gets cut on random things, like the pack shrinkwrap for instance. that is really the only gripe i have with turnigy packs.

UPDATE - thoughts -
02.06.2011, 02:30 AM
I've had the Savage for awhile now so it's no longer my first impression on the truck. First of all this truck is 10x the truck that any Maxx or Revo will ever be in stock form. Been running the truck on 4s Turnigy 5800mah 30C, tons of power and good runtime. So far this truck has taken a lot of abuse with minimal damage. I need to get some new bumper mounts as I have snapped the screws on one front and one rear one, that is really the only "damage".
Last weekend I finally shredded the input gear inside the transmission, just as I was warned that I would. Having to replace that gear is what propted me to add to this thread.
I will give Traxxas a A+ for their trannsmissions cause I think it's complete BS that HPI is putting this much power in a heavy truck with a weak gear. My only other complaint with the truck is the phillips head screws. It was very easy to get the truck apart to get the transmission out but would have been easier and more enjoyable with hex head screws. Really the most time consuming part was taking the battery boxes off and putting them on, the rest was easy. I will be ordering a screw set for the truck ASAP, otherwise this truck is awesome!
