It's kind of hard to tell which would perform better. If it were my choice, I'd go with the 540 because it's shorter and won't stick out as far, but also because it's power is rated a little bit higher than the 380 L motors. If SpeedyBL comes on he could probably say which motor would have more torque at a certain number of amps.

It sounds to me than any of those motors on 5s lipo would be good candidates to brake the land speed record for a rustler. J/k not exactly, but the 540S can will definately get you to at least 65 mph maybe 70 if the vehicle stays on the ground. The 16S would be ideal. I usually don't recommend 540 size motors for 1/10, but that's only because there usually isn't enough battery for that amount of motor. In this case 5s plenty. However the 380c 14l should still be able to reach 60 mph no problem. Torque isn't really a factor you should be worried about at this level of power. You wont be able to use full throttle on either motor anyhow.
