Both guys in the video are running 5700 Mamba Max's. The second guy is supposed to be running a 8 cell Nimh. Wouldn't the 3S on the 5700 be a little faster than the second car.

8 cell Nimh 9.6 9.6V
3S Li Po 11.1 V

I ordered the 5700 Mamba Max motor/contoller, 3S Li-Po 4000 Mah Maxxamps battery, Spektrum tx/rx, and charger yesterday.

I can't figure out if I should put it in a B4 or TC4. The expansion joints in the driveway and cul-de-sac may be a little rough for the touring car. Has anyone bashed with a touring car? The accelaration and handling should be insane.

I didn't want to mess with the BEC and extra cost right now. Seems a little simpler this way and I should get more than enough out of this setup.

Will the 3S fit in a MR-4BX ? The car is setup for side by side.

There are only a few cells that fit the bill for SxS.

Has anyone tried this balancer? And does it work pretty well?

"Great Planes ElectriFly Equinox LiPo Cell Balancer 1-5"

I have this charger coming in the mail:

"Multiplex Multicharger LN-5014 ~ 92531"

And this battery coming from MaxxAmps:

The Equinox is the same thing as a Hyperion LBA6. Metalman has the Equinox version and I'm pretty sure he likes his...

I wish I would have gotten the LBA6 instead of the Equinox. The reason is that the Equinox uses a particular type of taps that many batteries don't use. The LBA6 uses the Hyperion/Polyquest, which are more popular. I ended up just buying the LBA6 adapters to use Hyperion taps on my Equinox, so the $10 I saved by getting the Equinox was not worth it.

you can safely run 4s on the mamba max with a UBEC, but i believe you will void the warranty.

charger maybe?

not sure about a balancer.......

I just noticed the charger is DC input only. Is there a cheap power supply I can use for it? I can stick a car battery on the work bench and keep recharging it, but what a pain.
