You're insistent Zack
I like them ! No, I love them
Otherwise I need to do more big bashing sessions but so far they hold out everything. The shafts are big, the plastic components are sturdy, and with the UE towers my suspension setup is perfect !

Great build! I love the black anodizing. I hate all the red and blue stuff thats on the market... I was happy to see GH start to make orange stuff for my MERV.

I LOVE the E-Maxx
Obsolete chassis design, lots of weak points, but I can't get rid of it

Your racermaxx looks good, I need one of these new 3908 bodies !

New body ! - 10.10.2010, 09:59 AM

I did it, I bought a 3908 body It looks better than the 3905 one IMO.

The rear is wider, the "trunk" is longer and the look is more aggressive I like that !

What's new under the body ? (nothing special )

- I replaced the RPM axle carriers by the stock ones to test them.

I hope the built-in steel rings are effective because this area is fragile, look at my RPM carriers :

- I added HPI washers between the axle carrier and the wheel hub to reduce the slop (it's not my idea but I didn't find the thread where I found that ) :

- Mashers for the win ! IMEX Swamp Dawg are too heavy and don't work well with Maximizer beadlocks (they often pop out it's really irritating...).

Next step : VIDEO ! I hope soon...

Looking good, I dig the Brushless body too. Can you let us know about the Protek packs, I have been eying them, but haven't really known or read anything from someone with them.

I didn't run my maxx since my summer vacations But I'm tuning it perfectly for the next session (I hope soon...).

- I replaced the Traxxas drive cups (not sturdy enough for my driving style + lipo setup) by HPI ones : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...6276&search=Go (add this if you want to use them). Theoretically they are excellent !

- I dismantled all my wheels & tires to tape them and to balance them with the HPP wheel balancer. I've never used such a tool but I wanted to try.

Beautiful and top notch kit with all the info required, as usual with HPP

I noticed all my foams were worn down on the outer side :

(Left : used. Right : new).

The other side isn't as worn but it's not better. So I will tape my Masher tires to avoid that. I ordered new foams and next week if I can I will tape and balance my Mashers.

My maxx looks like this currently :

I weighed it, here are the results FYI :

- Body + Clips : 156g (0.34 lb)
- Protek Lipo : 310g*2 = 590g (1.30 lb)
- Mashers tires + Maximizer rims : 1385g (3.05 lb)
- E-Maxx chassis : 3785g (8.34 lb)

Total w/o lipo : 5326g (11.74 lb)
Total w/ lipo : 5916g (13.04 lb).

To be continued...

Here is my next upgrade :

It's the new HPP wheel hub, soon available. No more slope normally ! I will test it soon (I will post pics at least, my maxx hates winter...).

I'm not really worried by the slight axial slope (look at my driving style...) but I want the best for my maxx

Nice thread. I'm down a similar path of buying too much stuff to try out what works for me.

Trying to figure out if I can buy HPP parts from a US dealer somewhere...

HPP parts are only available on the HPP online store for the moment
