10 cell stick packs fit easily in the g-maxx chassis plate. I am building a truck for a customer using this battery configuration. I think 11 gp2200 cells could fit, if configured properly.

Does any of you have any Idea if the MAMBA MAXX is going to be on the shelvs any time soon? I've been visiting CCs to get some info about the thing, but no luck.

I spoke with tech yesterday. They have no official release date yet. They are still trying motors out and are still in phase one of testing (no beta testing yet, either). I would say late August at least before we see these available.

That's funny. I just emailed Castle yesterday asking if I could do beta testing for the Mamba Maxx controller. Haven't gotten a reply yet...

Why? You want them to launch controllers without the testing?

No, not at all, but I wanted to get my hands on that thing to use it in my B4 along with the Lehner 1930/5 motor. I'm a bit hasty thats all there is about it.

i see!..

I am a bit impatient myself as well, when it comes to waiting on producers... That 40C 2000 mAh lipoly's take longer than i hoped they would!! But they will come for sure!! (and that would kick major beyouteetee)

Thunder Power is going to have people testing their 25C cells pretty soon. May want to keep an eye on those.

i found this.

"There is no doubt the hottest thing at the Castle Creations booth was their new Mamba Maxx brushed/brushless ESC. This new controller is ideal for the Traxxas E-Maxx and Kyosho Twin Force, but can be used for any application where insane power is needed. The Mamba Maxx can run on a minimum of 6 cells, or up to 16. If you want to go all out, you can run 2-4s lithium polymer (LiPo's) packs. The power capability is 2400 watts peak, and 1200 watts continuous. According to the guys at Castle Creations, you'll actually blow the motor before you blow the ESC. Talk of a Castle Creations brushless motor has been mentioned due to the currently tested selection of brushless motors not being able to handle the power that the Mamba Maxx is capable of flowing. Rotor demagnification was the most common cause of failure. The controller has an estimated price of $250 and should be available August 2005. TRCZ was the first to announce the arrival of this new ESC over 6 months before its official release. The original discussion can be read by clicking here."

they also said this:

"Castle Creations, the makers of the famous Mamba-25 1/18th brushless system, have been working hard on a 1/10th Mamba. Over a year of testing and designing has gone in to the new systems, and should be out soon. The Mamba Max will feature built-in USB port for use with the Castle Link, external solder points, the ability to run both brushed and brushless motors, no motor limit, and up to 16 NiCD/NiMH cells or 4s Lithium Polymer batteries! The Monster Max, designed for monster trucks such as the E-Maxx, will include the same ESC but with a different heat sink setup, and a motor that is twice as long as the Mamba Max motor (shown above)! This huge motor will have a lot of magnetic surface area, which translates to a ton of torque and speed! Did I mention it's waterproof too? To my amazement, I learned that the Mamba-25, Mamba Max, Monster Max, and Barraccuda ESC's are all waterproof! You can be sure to see a Monster Max in my E-Maxx very soon!"

FT18T - stock

REVO - P2's, Red Rods, 40wt, Green/Tan, MX3. one day, it will be brushless. :028:
