Finally... Castle Creations new controller available soon! - 05.25.2005, 11:37 AM

I just saw the new ad on their site.

I contacted them if they could/would give me a little more technical details.

When I get a reply, i will vent it here.

hmmmm.......don't want to spoil your thunder, but exactly where on their site is the advert? If your refering to the 'pheonix' controllers, they are not designed for cars or trucks, only planes I think...........

When i hear more about it, i will post it.

The normal phoenix 125 can take 20 cells allready..

I also heard a rumour that the new car controller would be named 'mamba', though with a some higher number behind it than the 25...

Please do post any info you find. At this moment in time I'm looking to go for a brushless set-up, but with so many available its hard to decide which one to buy. Any info on castle's new system would be great.

Thanks

The new Castle setup is going to be just a controller initially. I believe it si giong to be called the "mamba maxx", but nobody really knows until it is released. I hope to get a beta version for testing in the near future, so when it is released, I should have an intimate knowledge of it. It is a little ways off, from what I can tell, but when it arrives, I am sure it will be of the quality that Castle Creations is known for.

Also, according to the people in that thread, the Mamba Maxx controller should be ready in 6-8 weeks.

I wonder what it means when it says "Don't get stuck with a brushless ESC that can only run one motor". Are the refering to brushless motors when they say that or brushed motors. Could be interesting if they are refering to brushless motors - I didn't think you could practically run two brushless motors off one controller?

I would still to see some actual current rating, and that 16cell limit raised to 18 :D
