starting point for scale truck - 02.10.2008, 12:44 PM

hey guys whats are good starting point for a scale truck,i was thinking the tamiya chevy truck or volkswagon dakar truck,what is generally used for a scale,somwething cheap guys my wife is keeping close eye on me these daysoh and i want it for light crawling and bashing,thanks

Use either a AX10 or Wheelie king and bolt it together. Top is with a Revo body and it looks very scale.

Not cheap. The CR-01 will be 350ish. Are you considering that cheap ? For a scale build I think you can start a lot cheaper. I did a scale build using the CC-01 chassis (touareg). It was a fun build, and remains one of my favorite trucks. Granted, the CR-01 looks very sweet, if you can afford it. The chevy truck you mentioned is probably the TL-01. It does ok. Very low ground clearance, and a very old chassis design.

One thing I have been wanting to try is making a scale prerunner type truck from my Dark Impact buggy. with some 1.9" truck tires and a tamiya truck body it would be a good start. It's a good runner too!
