velinion esc on LRP vector 4.5T sensored - 03.11.2008, 04:14 AM

I hooked up my LRP sensored motor to my velinion esc on a maxamps 2 cell lipo. When I power it up everything comes on fine but when I apply the throttle the motor acts as if it has a rev limiter on it at like 10k or 15k rpms. I tried it with and without the sensored wire hooked up and still got nothing. Anyone know anything about this? I call to traxxas netted me no results as they told me it was the motor. I said no, I have tried it on 5 different motors2 of which were new out of the package. Then they just told me I was out of luck. Please helps guys.

Maybe the traxxas esc is not friendly with the novak motors, like the mm was before the firmware upgrade?! That is kind of strange that it only spins the motors up to that speed. Do you have it in training mode? A shot in the dark, but it may help to reprogram it to your radio and set the mode again. The new motor may have confused it?!

I have read where others have gotten their novaks and other sensored motors to work with it. They only posted that it worked and didnt explain though ( a lot of good that did me). The esc even has a sensored wire port on the front of it to use with it. I am about to leave work here in a few and I might go ahead and try to reprogram the esc to the radio and double check what mode it is in.
