MIP CVD Gripping Screws Alternative

I have MIP CVDs that use 2 little grub screws to grip the diff' output.

I hate them so want to find cups that can take the stock screws that lock the diff' outputs because they go through the middle of them rather than grip (stock screws are 4mm).

Or actuall 5mm screws that go through them instead of gripping grub screws.

Or some DIY way (as a last resort if you don't know where I can find the other bits) that would work.

How large is the hole in the diff? i think i do have got an alternative..

The hole in the diff' output is about 3mm.

Also I have noticed my cups are like this (looking into cup):

Rather than:

So the outputs don't lock onto the cup (regardless of screws or not).

I don't think it is wise to use a m4 bolt through such a small axle. I've never had a problem with my ue cup's holding on the diff's. Make sure the flat spot of the axle is wide enough for the screw head to sit on and use a little blue locktite.

(DON'T use the red stuff, it's a pain in the butt to remove later and will most likely strip the screw then get the screw out)

Take a dremel and flatten the shaft so the set screw's sit on the flat spot. This should hold them fermly in place.

Tried Loctite, it doesn't work. Red and blue they still don't grip the outputs and still, I don't like the idea of gripping things, I prefer locking it in place, like the stock ones did.

Since the shaft you screwwing set screw's against is flat, it's not a big surprise it won't hold no matter how much locktite you poor on it. The only thing that will hold is welding it on.

But since that's a bad idea, i'd recommand taking a dremel and make 2 flat spot's(actually 1 is enough). Believe me when I say it won't come loose if properly done. There's nothing wrong with gripping it together.

Actually I don't know any brand that make's cvd's that hold's the cup's on like the stock slider's. All use set screw's.

Rd logics take the stock screws. Mike sells on here. I have a set. You need the stock screws for them though. they screw through the diff shaft. Even if they come loose they don't come off. If that is what you want.

I'm ordering the Savage pins from a LHS if they don't fit I will take that as my last option.

Will be odd down-grading to Rdlogics from MIP but at least they will work!

Well they with stand a 7xl 18cells. My bro had a set of mip that he broke up. They not a bad cvd. They no UEs. They only reason I not running them now. I went to the 7.5 rears. Won't work with them.

What if you run like UE cups with the mip cvds. The ue seem to hold better.

Got them today and they don't fit.

Are you sure RDlogics use the pin technique before I blow my money on some more CVDs?

I can send you a pic of them. They don't come with the pin. You have to buy that seperate. I have them. I would not lie to you. Unless they have changed there design.
