Gearing will vary widely depending on motor used.

I use 12/46 (2613kv motor)

Hi,

I like to keep gearing the same as nitro buggy. So, I'm using 13/46 with a feigao 9XL 5S lipo BK12020 esc. My buggy is old style & heavy (around 4.1kg ). I run in he tropics so it's about the worst condition possible. Ambient temperature typically around 33 to 34 deg C & humidity close to 100%.

Good for close to 37mph or 60km/h. Plenty fast for racing already. Battery lasts around 15 to 20 minutes.

This setup is stable in the above mentioned environmental condition. I've been running this every weekend for the past 1year+. I did manage to fry my 2S portion of the battery last weekend though but this is due to user error. I did not charge the it fully while I charged the 3S part fully.

Hope this is useful.

Regards,
Joe Ling

Seems like a 13t pinion is a great place to start. As long as your motor rpm is around 35k max.

I was using a 18/46 gear with my 1950-8t (1650 kv) in my jammin. I plan on running a 12/46 gear with my new motor 1512-2d (2550 kv ) in my jammin buggy. Using 4s lipo for power.

I used a 9xl motor (about 1700KV) on 4s so I ran 18/46 on my old 1/8 buggy.

I am using 16T with the XB8EC, running on the 1515 2.5D and 5s. Too fast to properly control on full throttle.

Running the 1512 2.5d (2050kv) with 16/48 on 4S, clocked at ~41-42mph - and that feels very fast at WOT. Will go to 5S with MMM, but will start off with around 13/48.
