I'm looking for some real decent skids, currently I have Raven Allu' ones and are real soft, hit a plant pot and they bent 45degrees, I wasn't even driving fast.

What are Gorillas like in comparision? Or can anyone reccomend a good brand of titanium skids.

These are the titanium skids, I also had the Kbrock hounds but the link is not working....

The Gorilla skids do not have the section that rises upvertically, it is cut short and angled up, similar to the RPM wear plate wich matches up well to it. I assume it will not provide much help in a full frontal impact, but then again not much will. The bonus with titanium is its long wear and ability to spring back after impact. Aluminum will not spring back but can be bent back to shape. Titanium does not like to be bent.Gmaxx

Racers Edge is another brand. That is what I have on my Maxx. Scratches is about the only thing that will happen to titanium. You have to be doing something really major to bend those bad boys.

GA are doing them $60 for both front and rear, looks good.

I heard rumours Ti' sparks, is this true?

$60 seems pretty good. I couldnt find a set on ebay but some guy has a used front titanium skid that is currently going for $20 with 1 day left on the auction. So $60 is petty good for the set.

I have heard that they spark as well. I have not noticed mine ever sparking (though I have never run it when it was dark out) and it sits pretty close to the ground. When I get it put back together I will try it out and let you know.

I've got the GA skids (the thin ones) they are tough enough.. I don't like the skids being long, acting like a bumper though..

Rumor has it sparks will fly.:cool: Probably won't see them unless its dark and then that 'll be all you see.

Yeah, titanium is likely to spark when it's in contact with concrete/tarmac.. Some bikers use it on their knees for this..

Yep I run a ti skid on my e-maxx. Love the sparks!

Aluminum and skids IMO are only good for a center skid and sometimes the rear. The front skid just get a good bumper and the G-maxx skid or go Ti

Either revorick or airmaxx23 (traxxas forums, I don't know if they are on these forums) have titanium skids on their revo and in one of their videos the revo lands on some rocks and you can see quite a few sparks.

The Ti skids are the best out there IMO. They take so much abuse and ask for more.

Yep, Ti sparks. Thats what we use on bagged and hydraulic truck for drag blocks. They last long, protect the frame, and throw LOTS of golden sparks, a real site to see at night.
