Neu motor / LST2 - 04.16.2008, 08:12 PM

I am thinking about a Neu 1515 1Y as a replacement for a Feigao 8XL. It will be in a LST2 that weighs just under 13 pounds, running a Hydra 120 on 5S.

Thoughts?

Has anyone used the FD motor mounts with a Neu?

It should rip. There are several on here using that motor with 4 and 5s and on the 5s they all say it's a beast. Now the ones I know of are on E-maxx's and Revo's but the weight is near the same.

Are the FD mounts those rings that clamp around the motor? If they are then they probably won't fit a neu.
Feigao and most other smooth can 540/550 size motors are 36mm diameter.
Smooth can neu is 39.6mm
Finned neu is 43.8mm

For 5s you could use the 1515 1y (2200kv), 1515 2d (2050kv) or 1515 2.5d (1650kv), just depends on how much power you want, and if you can get a motor mount to work with a neu.

That weight might have been before battery.

Yes they are the clamp mounts.

Any heat issues with running the 1Y on 5S?

So I weighted it before I went to work this morning: 13.05 pounds with battery.
