I Did It!! - 04.26.2008, 02:47 AM

Hay gentlemen,
I'm totally stocked (And a little tipsy) at the moment, I did want what said couldn’t be done, I installed a 3905 trans on a GorillaMaxx 3.0 chassis..

Here how I did it just incase you want this mod your self?.

I bought the FLM 3905 Transmission adaptor part # FLM10600 for $17.00

(For what it’s worth) this little mount allows you to mount a 3905 on the FLM chassis..

Anyway I simply drilled another hole as close to the original hole as possible in two locations and got out trusty dremel and cleaned it up!. I don’t have (4) screws holding in the transmission down but I don’t think that will cause a problem?!.. (your thoughts)

Just thought I share the good news with the team..

Have a great one a keep an eye open for my next / new build. Step-by step building a the G3 beast.

Shaun.

P.S.
It just goes to prove the old saying right “Anything is possible with a garage full of power tools and good bottle of Wine!.. Or Two”..

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..

That looks fine, I wouldnt worry about only using 3 screws on either side- its goin' nowhere. Im sure with a few tweaks FLM could make a version specifically for the Gorillamaxx chassis, though GorillaMaxx themselves are said to be working on a chassis specifically for the 3905 tranny, so.... cool either way.

(For what it's worth)
Here is another modification I just completed for my G3. I was able to install the Tenko wing mount with some basic parts I pickup at the hardware store..

I just need my MMM and it good to go..

Have a great one..

FLM made the adapter, but they no longer sell it and it's difficult to come by.

Hmmm, I wonder why it is no longer sold? Are they developing a new chassis designed for the new emaxx?

Cool to see the FLM tranny adapters too.
