Ok, got my MM working finally on 5S 20C 4800 - 04.29.2008, 07:13 PM

here is set up

Revo 3.3 w/ tekno conversion
Neu 1512 2.5D 2000kv
hyperion 5S 4800 20C batt.
MM esc
CC bec
stock steering servos

I had the MM w/Nemesis 7xl motor and it was definiatly faster than my Neu 1512. On the up side, MM w/Neu combo runs much cooler. I mean the esc and the motor is not even warm.. its actually cool, but the accel. and the top speed isnt there as it was w/ nemeisis combo.

here is the question.. Will MMM make this faster/accel than the MM? I want to keep everything same but might change the esc if its faster.. thanks.

I dont know what version it is but i bought only the esc from towerhobbies about 1.5 weeks ago.. Im not using anything. NO fan, no forced air etc.. I mean, I cant even feel the heat on my fingers.. If I put the esc and the motor closer to the face then i could feel the warmth but barely..

well, you gave up like 230kv, go up to 6S or try some much taller gears. If you are experiencing no heat, you have PLENTY of head room for taller gears.

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

I wouldn't recommend this at all. Most Mamba Max's can't even handle 5s let alone 6s. Gear up instead.

In answer to your question, everything else equal, changing the ESC shouldnt really affect the top speed. For that you either need higher voltage or high gearing. If you got the Monster, then you could run 6s which would give your more speed.

what size clutch bell should I use? also, Do I need the spring for the clutch in the tekno conversion? I ask due to the fact that the motor spins pretty fast and grabs the clutch so If i get rid of the spring then the accel. will be quicker?

If I change the gear then would it affect the accel?
