Buggy Questions - 05.07.2008, 10:52 PM

Ok, Im planning on buying a new buggy pretty soon but I dont know witch buggy to get. the new Xray looks SICK or should I wait on the hyper 9. The 9 looks very narrow and not coversion friendly. It will be using a mm until my monster max arives, So what motor should I buy I have 8xl I want to run 4s. This buggy will be a STRAIGHT race buggy I was thinking flightpower 5000s to power. Any other suggestions that I should consider motors, batteries , buggies? All help will be appreciated

We have no idea how the Hyper 9 and the new Xray buggy will compare. That said, I would choose the Hyper 9 simply because it already has a mechanical disk brake at the rear diff. As for it being narrow, the Losi 8ight is also pretty damn narrow.

If you're going to be racing, the 8XL simply will not cut it. Go with a Neu 1512. My Hyper 8 has a Neu 1512 2.5D/F, which has a low kv of about 2000, but runs very well. Geared for about 45mph (pretty much as fast as the fastest nitro buggies) on 4s 4800mah 20C Lipo the motor doesn't get above about 160 deg. in full race conditions. I should also note that the Mamba Max ESC with 4 extra 35v 330uf capacitors added on also does not get above about 150 deg.

Xray buggy looks real nice but don't really know much about the hyper 9.
How quickly do you want this project to get up and going? If you are wanting for the hyper 9 to come out maybe the Neu/CC motors will be out by then

I would go for the Xray 808, they are really light and the quality is amazing. Look in the buggy forum for pictures of converions.
