Eagle tree data from FLM Savage and MMM before death -
05.13.2008, 08:14 PM
So I thought I would post my eagle tree data from my short run before my MMM died. The Eagle Tree CDR file is attached. The graphs below show most of it. The second picture shows the biggest amp spike. The most concerning thing is the voltage drop. The pack is a brand new 4900mah 6s 20c neu energy pack with a MMM and Feigao 11XL 1516kv motor. You can see in the graph where the MMM died. It is doing what others have described, fan twitches when it is switched on and off, and castle link can't connect to it. Also the 65000 rpm spikes are just errors from the brushless motor rpm sensor.
Savage: FLM Conversion, 6s, MMM, CC 1520.
Mini-T Pro: Micro Pro 6800kv, Lipo, HS-81mg, Dirt Hawgs
M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo
LRP S8-BX: RC-M Conversion, Tekin RX8 B1600KV, 6S.

Seems that MMM have BEC issues on 6S running. More and more MMM users experince similar problem. Thx god that I didnt ordered MMM yet I descided to wait until comes out Motor/ESC combo
Btw my MM do spikes over 118A and its rated 100A and all seems is ok, its must be internal BEC issue on MMM

Who knows but it doesn't really matter that I ordered early. At least I got to try it and I know castle will sort it out. Also don't plug your castle link into your esc for too long if it stops working like mine did. I just had mine plugged in for a while (computer was starting) and the castle link got really warm. This would suggest that plugging an external bec into it wouldn't be a good idea. Mine is going back in the morning.

im always start Low with my cars
WHEN MY MMM COMES,
ill try my 3s 8000 pack, low(25mph gearing) an set every setting on cc castle link soft ware to the lowest settings,ei. lowwest timming, 100% curent limiter, an LVC to 9.6v (for 3s)..
if all goes well ill try 5s(same settings) an see what happens....
better to be on the safe side....

I really don't think that would have helped. The graph shows that I hadn't pushed the esc that hard going by the specs. The battery on the other hand was being pushed. I'm guessing a bad component failed but we will know in 2 or 3 weeks as my esc is on it's way back to the USA already.

Why wait, there will always be problems, no matter how you test it. remember the banana plug thing with the MM? They can't anticipate everything, Especially with the pressure to produce something. If i could swing it, I'd have three by now and had to send one back, oh well. Castle has the best support in the brushless industry, you should not fear buying a bad esc, they will take care of it

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I understand your point, but I live in Europe and ship ESC overseas will cost money. Lets say if i Fry my MM i allready modded it and its not cowered by warranty so new ESC from Castle will cost $50 but another 50 i will pay for shipping maybe bit less :). Easyer buy another MM from www.b-p-p.com for $114 free shipping.

I see your point, didn't think about the overseas thing. Isn't there a distributer overseas that you could send it to for warranty purposes

So I ran the Mamba Monster again in my savage after getting it back from Castle for repair. Guess where it is headed in the morning?
Anyway here is the pretty graph of the second run that lasted a hole minute and a half.
So am I the only lucky one to break this esc twice? Exactly the same symptoms as last time.

M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo

Dang, thats some bad luck dude... Castle mustn't be happy about all this.. And to think the years delay meant to everyone that it would be thoroughly tested.
People can say first releases always have problems all they want, this does seem to be a little more than that though...

And it sucks that I am having bad luck when I'm on the other side of the world. I hope I don't have a bad servo or anything like that causing this problem.
