MM firmware question - 05.17.2008, 12:13 AM

I bought a new MM and it had 3.05version programed. I ran it with a 3S and mega motor and everything went great. I sent the MM off to get some mods done. Got it back and put a 4S to it and ran fine for a couple of days and now it's acting up with alot of cogging and if I go past half throttle it just stalls. The motor is getting too hot fast. I figured it might be the connectors so I just took them off a soldered them direct and no difference. I got back home and noticed I'm on 1.17version. I tried deleting the program and reinstalling it with no luck. I just can't seem to the newer 3.05 into my MM. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

You may be confusing the castlelink version (3.051 is the latest) with the mamba version (1.17 is the latest). If the motor is getting hot fast; the magnets may be toast.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. It just coggs bad and now I just noticed it has near zero brakes. I have another motor I can try and see if that makes a difference.

Yeah, the magnets are probably bad on the motor if you have poor brakes.

Dang was hoping to get more then 2 weeks out of the motor. I'll try the other motor tomorrow. If I do have to get a new motor this time I will go with a lower Kv since I'm running 4S now. Thanks guys

OK I put in another motor that works fine. Soldered it all up and the same thing happens. It takes off and runs fine for a min or two then it start cogging then I lose a ton of power. Also the MM just shuts down after so long and most of the times comes back on. The MM was not even warm yet and the motor was 120. I'm alittle lost anyone have any ideas?

Yep you guys were right the mega motor is junk. When I was running the other motor it was acting up because my 4S was at 10.6volts. I charged it back up to 16.8 and had no problems running. Dang I'm stupid. I know the voltage cutoff doesn't work at custom 12.3 or 12.0. Glad I bought one of those antipuff lipos. Guess I'll try the medusa motors.
