Best motor for 1:10 truck on 8 cells? - 09.17.2005, 07:01 PM

Hello, I currently use a 540 6s between all my 1:10 trucks on 6-8 cells, but am looking for a replacement that will hopefully be faster, and safe to run on 10 cells (even if its past the efficency point I'd like to run 10 cells without overrevving, but gobs of power on 8 cells).

The trucks it'll live in is my RC10T2, and RC10GT. Both weigh about 2.5KG (5.5 pounds) when RTR with a 7 cell battery, and run heavy/oversize Masher 2000 tyres. The tyres really rob a lot of power but I love using them just about anywhere.

I was thinking maybe a Feiago 8s, but I don't think its going to give me more power on 8 cells than my 6s somehow, although it would be safe for 10 cells just about. Are there any motors that will push this heavy car faster than my current setup without increasing the amount of cells? I'm using a Mtroniks Genesis Pro controller btw, it handles the 6s fine so should handle hotter motors without a problem.

Thanks!
