...or do we need a clicky button that leads you from the "new-posts" screen directly to the last page of a thread?

Am I missing something here?

Ah, I totally see what you mean, after I re-read it a few times.....11:40am might be too early for me to try thinking I guess.

I'd say that it'd be a great idea, instead of having the first page of the thread load and then you get to choose what page you want to go to, why not just build in the page numbers, or at least a "Last Page" link next to the title of the thread? The other sites I'm a member of do it.......;)

You got me right, though. This loading of the first page is pointless.

If I understand the question(s) right, I think you are missing it.

I'll try and explain.

Here's what I do upon each visit to the forums:

1 - Go to the Forum main page
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/

2 - Click the link that reads ">> View New Posts <<". This is in the Quick Stats section right below the Jato ad.

2a - You should now see the list of threads that are new and any pre-existing threads that have new replies in them.

3 - Click the little icon immediately to the left of the thread link (the icon looks like 3 tiny squares arranged to look like a down arrow). If you hover your pointer over it for a moment, you'll see it pops up a tag that reads "Go to first new post".

4 - Once you read the new posts, use your browser's Back button (or the backspace key on the keyboard) to go back to the list of new posts. You should now be back at 2a.

4a - If you added your own reply to a post after reading one, to go back to the list of new posts you can click the little drop-down arrow to the right of your browser's Back button (Internet Explorer is what I use) and choose the most recent "RC-Monster Forums - Search Results" page to go back to.

Lather, rinse, repeat...

Hope that helps :)
