Can't set-up my MMM (please help...) - 06.20.2008, 12:08 PM

Hello,

I've finally gotten everything I need to run my E-Revo (conversion). Batteries are fully charged, transmitter (Futaba 3PM) has been tested on another truck. (And the transmitter has had its throttle servo reversed, as mentioned in the MMM manual.)

I power-up the MMM with the throttle held down. I hear the proper tone, then the green light blinks. I push the throttle again and the MMM does 4 tones.

And here's the trouble: instead of having a red led blinking, I have the green and yellow leds on, the red blinking, and the MMM beeping repeatedly. I try putting the transmitter in reverse, but nothing happens.

Nowhere in the manual or the website have I found a reference to that LED-state.

Can anyone help me?

Loa

P.S. If someone from castle reads this: why isn't there a LED-state explanation in the manual? The MMM is telling me something but I can't decode what it is...

Reverse your throttle channel, futaba radios have to have the throttle channel reversed to work with most escs.

Thanks for the tip! :-)

The MMM falls into that multi-LED and beeping sound immediately after it accepts my forward throttle. I'm not even touching reverse...

Any ideas?

Make sure that you have all of the trims centered and no exponetial or any other settings off zero. I have a 3pm and it can be difficult to program at times. Have you tested the radio and receiver by themselves? By using a rec pack and some servos? Do you have the same xtals, or the synth set correctly? I would fully test the radio and double check all of the settings first.

I haven't done any programming on the transmitter yet, so I'm guessing it's "stock", except for the reversed servos.

I'm still stupmed and can't find anything helpful on CC's site.

check your F/R ratio. Try the 70/30 if you are on 50/50.

I had trouble setting up my lazer 6 with the MMM- had to turn down my throttle epa and crank up the brake epa before the esc would calibrate correctly... it might take a bit of fiddling....

Thanks for the help. The problem was the little APL screw on the transmitter. For some reason it was too tight.

Now it's working.

Thing is: I lost a wheel nut on my first drive, in the grass... Right now I'm praying the hardware store has one in the exact right size. :-(

You lost a nut? That sounds nasty....

I think you need an M4 nut, but I've never actually seen the size written down anywhere- its bigger than M3 at any rate.

Man I know that feeling all too well. Got my hyper going, and then shot a nut off the right rear wheel. Fun over. :(

Hehe... Bad crash, lost a nut. Ouch!

Seriously, I don't have stock wheel hubs. David put some 17mm hexes on it before he sold the roller, so I'm not even sure what I should get to replace it.

Loa

P.S. After all those months of building then waiting for the final parts, I get to drive it 15 seconds... Sheesh!

This is RC-Monster, its what we do best!

If the hubs are 17mm, then the nut should be 17mm or 16mm, depending on the brand I think.
