Convert a 2.4GHz Cordless Phone/Docking Station Into Radio System? -
06.24.2008, 01:21 PM
I'm curious as to whether it would be possible to convert a cordless phone that you can get for pretty cheap at Walmart or wherever into a 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver to use in an RC car. I'm getting tired of my stock Traxxas AM radios, but 2.4GHz radios are just so expensive. Has anyone else tried to do this? Do any of you electrical experts know if/how this could be done? They seem to have a lot of range and a pretty good signal. I'm not sure how you would divide the channels up though.
Thanx,
Brijar!!!

This sounds interesting, I have an old dishwasher that I wanted to convert into a spaceship. If anyone has plans to do that I will happily pay up to $15 USD for them. I would prefer an ion-drive, as dilithium crystals are hard to come by.
Good luck with your cordless phone radio, I may be interested if a paging feature could be included so that the wife could get in touch with me while I am playing down the street. You know, so that she could let me know when dinner is ready!

I thought of that, but how do I get the dishwasher up to speed to use the ramjet? Solid rocket boosters? should I take the lower rack out, or leave it in?
You obviously know more about this than I do, any info would be greatly appreciated!

If I remember correctly the lower rack stays in, and two flux capacitors are used.

That makes sense, if you just used one it would has 4th order harmonic vibrations in the anti-matter chamber. And leaving the rack in must help with servicing the inertial dampers.

Now Linc, you know darn well we can't discuss prices here. Shoot me a PM though, and we'll discuss a price for my kenmore elite DW -> ramjet interplanetary cruiser plans. As of yet, it's untested. Initial readouts look impressive though ;).

Linc I have some old rusty cast iron pots I will sell you cheap. Put those in and you are guaranteed to get to at least warp 9 although instances of warp 12 have been reported. If you add a the jet dry module it increases power efficiency and gets you 100,000 space miles per tank.

Brijar, why don't you look at FM radios? They're not as expensive as 2.4GHz but a great improvement over AM none the less.
This discussion about dishwasher spaceships is probably the most funny/interesting thing I've seen in a while. So to add my $0.02, I recommend equipping your dishwasher with a spacial resonance drive. Note that the optional cascaded cold plasma power bridge would yield another 21% efficiency over the standard dark matter fission block.

This technology is being used my the Borgs. Notice how their "Cube" have a Maytag label on the top left.
