Odd problem with 9XL - 07.08.2008, 11:35 PM

So my 9XL has been working like a champ in my E-maxx. I took it out and put it in my E-Revo and now it's having an odd problem.

It basically acts like it has drag-brake turned up to 80% even when it's not hooked up to the ESC.

When it is hooked up to the ESC and under throttle it has plenty of power, but it makes the caps on the MM heat up within 60 seconds. As soon as you let off the throttle it brakes pretty hard. I've verified that the drag brake is set to 0 on the MM.

I don't think the problem is related to the MM because it does this even when the ESC is not connected to the motor. If you push it along the ground it doesn't freel-wheel. The drivetrain is new and smooth as silk. The motor connectors are not touching. The gear mesh is appropriate. The motor has never been over 180F.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian
