Hacker b50 XL ?????? - 10.14.2005, 10:15 PM

Hi all,

Just got my e-maxx and have not started upgrading it yet. It's a definite that I am going brushless.

Just wondering if I can make use of a motor I have sitting around.

Hacker B50XL 12 turn.

Any advice. I am thinking that the motor might not be a good choice due to the low KV. Maybe I could gear up since it should have a Ton of torque.

Well, you could run a lot of cells on it, and then get super long runtimes! Or, you could use GP2200s. That motor has ~1300kv. If you ran 26 cells through it, you would get about 40,000 RPM (unloaded). Or, 20 cells to hit 30,000 RPM.

Low KV is good.

takes a higher gearing.

It depends on how many cells is gonna drive..

Torque doesn't change with different kv ratings, when it's a motor from the same type.. It's the magnet that can produce a certain power. it's not going to be more with a different KV range.
