E-Baja - 08.05.2008, 02:01 PM

Hi Guys!

I'm thinking about making a Electric Baja, but first I have a quick question.
- Does somebody has pictures of a E-Baja, where I can see how it is made? ( The FineDesign pictures are crap )

I also send a PM to a user who has a E-Baja, but didnt received anything.

Thanks in advance!

Here you go:

The person with the e-baja is also stationed in Iraq, which would probably explain why he is not answering PMs.

Right now mike is doing research for my baja conversion...he is wanting to go with a new 2215 on 8s with an mgm 120/32 control. He thinks this will more than double the power output of the stock motor and shave about 5 pounds of her as well. I'm going all carbon fiber parts including a carbon fiber chassis from vantage which should take another pound or two off it (a 15 pound baja)! Grab a baja and send it to mike!

That sounds awesome! Please let me hear it if you know some more! :D
Wow, 15 pound, that's amazing!
When do you think your Baja is completely RTR?

And who is Mike? ( Rc shop owner or something? )

Mike is excellent to buy from. In fact I buy from him unless it's something he doesn't carry.

I'll have to agree with the non believers on this one. Why convert a baja? The only reason I can see to convert one is if you want the fastest baja in the paddock. The stock baja is heaps of fun, very little engine maintenance is required and they run FOREVER on a tank of fuel. Even though if the engine in mine takes a dump I will seriously consider converting it but I think my LHS would disown/ban me if I did.

Edit: I suppose there is the noise factor as well but the baja goes the best in big open spaces anyway but it would be nice if it was a lot quieter.

Savage: FLM Conversion, 6s, MMM, CC 1520.
Mini-T Pro: Micro Pro 6800kv, Lipo, HS-81mg, Dirt Hawgs
M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo
LRP S8-BX: RC-M Conversion, Tekin RX8 B1600KV, 6S.

I just wanna make a Electric Baja because I don't like gas/nitro, and the fuel is not cheap..
Ok, the Baja has a good sound, but I love electric sound also!

8 and 10s Lipos aren't cheap either.

Also I've found that gas/nitro makes everything a little bit "gummier" and cause dirt to stick everywhere . . . I've found that electrics stay a little cleaner.

Lipo 10000mah 5S 18.5V - $299,-
So 600 dollar for 2 LiPo's, thats cheap, compared what a 5000mAh 7,4V LiPo here in the Netherlands costs

"I've found that electrics stay a little cleaner"
Another reason to make a E-Baja! :D I always saw that nitro's/gas cars were dirtier than electrics, but never thought about it, well found! :P
