I was looking at getting on road car to take carpet racing but I have no clue about any of it.. Does 4 wheel drive make that big of difference when you are racing on carpet with foam tires? I was looking CRC cars...

Lucias i have just been contemplating the same thing , i'm going with a 200mm pan car . There are a few out at the moment with more being released as we speak as this class is gaining popularity .

They can fit any 200mm touring car body or sports car body , very simple design , easy to set up and alot cheaper to race than touring cars .
Modified pan car set up correctly will out run a touring car everytime and handle great even though it is 2wd.

I will be running my pan car on an outdoor track which is very smooth and lots of grip.

I'm going with this BMI car the DB10R , it's designed for 7.4v lipos or 4 cell nimh

I'm in Australia and no one my way runs these so that forum i linked is very helpfull. Jason from BMI is always on there and offers alot of help on set up and parts support

I was looking at the CRC cars.. I think they are similiar to the BMI cars...

CRC and BMI are both awesome cars! You will be happy with either for sure! The CRC is more lipo friendly, but they both handle great!

Scalpels are fun! There alot faster (around the track) then any other minis! There fun

But unless your track is nice and smooth, then your out of luck

Get an Associated TC4 or 5 they are bullet proof cars, drive like there on rails, and great for brushless speed runs on the street, great all around car.

I remember a guy back a year or so ago on one of the boards making a speed car with the scalpel. I remember him getting over 80 I think but not much else.

From what I understand the 10th scale pan style cars handle much better than a tc and are easier to tune. I would go with one of those. The look dang near bullet proof. I have been tempted to make speed run car from sometime in the future.
